Description
(Entering Grades 7-11 in the 2026-27 school year) Frederick County Parks and Recreation's CIT development program is focused on leadership, communication skills, team-building, goal-setting and having fun. As a CIT, you will assist with the overall supervision of campers to ensure their safety and enjoyment of camp. You will contribute ideas and help with the planning of themed activities and receive mentorship from FCPR staff. CITs may receive SSL hours for time spent assisting with the supervision of campers and are responsible for their completion of all required paperwork with their school.To be considered for a CIT position, all returning and new candidates must complete a group interview where they will showcase their talents and skills. CIT space is limited and selective based on group interview performance and completion of an application. Please look for an email with more information regarding your group interview from vanderson1@frederickcountymd.gov by January 2nd, 2026.
Select a group interview session to be considered for the program; written applications will be completed on site during the day of your interview.
Selected CITs will be scheduled for a minimum of 2 consecutive weeks during the summer camp season (June 22nd-August 7th). Additional weeks may be offered based on performance and specific camp needs.
