About This Activity
Description
One of the featured dance styles on popular show like SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance) Contemporary dance explores the basics of ballet and modern dance techniques in a format that blends traditional class structure with developmentally appropriate movement explorations. Students will build vocabulary, positions of the feet and arms, flexibility and coordination, body awareness, moving through space with ease, weight shifting and using oppositional body halves. Class will consist of barre and center work, guided movement explorations, floor progressions, and short center sequences.
