About This Activity
New participants are required to pass only one tryout and do not have to do both a pool and ocean swim. Qualification times have been adjusted for each type of tryout. There is no cost to try out, however participants new to Hendry's Junior Lifeguards must pass a tryout administered by SB County Lifeguards. OCEAN TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS: Swim 100 yards using any stroke desired without fins or other assistance. Student must enter the water without hesitation 2:45 minutes for 12 years and older 3:15 minutes for 8 to 11 years old Tread water for 2 minutes Swim underwater for 10 yards
