American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification Class. Lifeguard Certification, CPR/AED certification is good for two years. Outdoor Pool/Indoor Pool/Board Room. You must attend both days! May 4th and 5th, 8am, arrive at the circle drive gym entrance. (Times are Estimated and may change. Contact Brianna at breed@clcca.org for more information.
Course Description The First part of the class will be hybrid and will be done prior to coming to the class online. It is very important to include your phone number and email address. American Red Cross Lifeguard instructor courses teach trainees how to teach swim and rescue skills, from the proper ways to enter the water in an emergency to safely retrieving someone from the bottom of the pool. The courses also include components on how to teach CPR and AED effectively, to assist victims in a cardiac emergency. For this class you must be 17+ years old. You must possess a current Red Cross Certificate for Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. Must have the ability to successfully demonstrate all Lifeguarding and CPR skills including a precourse assessment to perform a water rescue (submerged drowning) extrication single rescuer CPR for 3 minutes. No refunds allowed once registered. To Receive Certification You Must Attend all class sessions. Demonstrate competency in the three final skill scenarios. Demonstrate competency in all required skills and activities. Score at least an 80% each on three sections of the final written exam. Students are required to wear a swimsuit and bring a towel and a change of clothes to each class. Students are encouraged to bring food, snacks and drinks to have throughout the day.
