Description
Swim lesson is designed for children that are 6-18 months old. A parent or 16+ caregiver must be in the water with the child during the lesson to help facilitate the skills being taught by the Swim Instructor.
Parent Tot 1 is a perfect class for parents/caregivers to introduce the wonders of water to infants and young children. This class is structured so parents/caregivers are educated on how to teach infants and toddlers basic water skills and safety in or around the water.
SKILLS TAUGHT IN PARENT TOT 1 (AGE 6MO -18MO)• Getting wet with toys and kicking • Enter water by lifting in and walking in • Out-of-water and in-water exploration • Exit water by lifting out and walking out • Blowing bubbles on the surface • Blowing bubbles with mouth and nose submerged • Underwater exploration • Submerging mouth, nose and eyes • Front and back floats and glides • Roll from front to back and back to front • Passing from instructor to parent • Leg actions on front and back • The importance of wearing a life jacket • How to call for help and the importance of knowing first aid and CPR • Basic water safety rules • General water safety around the home • Recreational water illnesses • Sun safety
No goggles for any of the Parent Tot or Pre-K classes.
