PUBLIC American Red Cross WSI course.
JULY 11, 12 & 18thThis blended learning course also known as WSI™ trains American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. The courses and presentations include Parent and Child Aquatics Levels 1 and 2 Preschool Aquatics Levels 1 - 3 Learn-to-Swim Levels 1 - 6 three adult courses as well as the Basic Water Rescue and Personal Water Safety courses and more. To enroll instructor candidates must be at least 15 years of age on or before the last day of the instructor course and successfully complete the pre course session which includes demonstration of swimming skill at Learn-to-Swim Level 4. No refunds are issued for cancellations less than 7 days from the start of the course.

Books are NOT available for purchase through VMCC and participants MUST have PHYSICAL copies of both manuals on the first day of class in order to participant in the course. Participants will receive online content 10-14 days prior to the start of the course (about 8 hours). Online content must be completed prior to the first day of class. No refunds will be issued for incomplete online content or missing manuals on first day of class.
Swimming pre requisites are required for this course and will be completed on the first day of class. Participants will need to swim 25 yards of; front crawl, back crawl, breast stroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and 15 yards of butterfly with level 4 proficiency.
