About This Activity
Description
Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.
"Levels" are for participants 5yrs-12ys 11mo. Participants only need to register for the times they want and will be tested into Levels on Day 1 of the session. All material is still from the American Red Cross and follow the same progression for lessons. All American Red Cross levels are designed to build upon each other. Age ranges are based on the actual age of child upon start date.Participants develop greater independence, strength, endurance, and confidence in the water. Participants learn and refine front and back crawl while learning rotary breathing, scissor kick, diving, treading, sculling, turns, and feet- and head-first entries, with opportunities to practice skills with and without instructor assistance as levels progress. Additional strokes, including breaststroke, butterfly, and sidestroke, are introduced and developed as swimmers progress toward lap swimming using all six strokes.
