No Class 2/17, 3/30, & 4/6. Students focus on Platform events (original oratory, informative, After Dinner Speech, persuasive and more). Coach guides students in preparing their original 7–10-minute speeches. Coaches lecture on writing expository and persuasive speeches, as well as organizational patterns in both the written and spoken acts of the performance. Students are expected to navigate the internet, read expository articles, and write 5-10 pages papers. For younger students, students are expected to focus on performances aimed at preparing them to advocate for an idea as they move up the grade levels. *Prerequisite: Students enrolling in this class must have taken at least 1 semester of Art of Public Speaking or completed advanced Little Orator classes.
