Provoke inspiration through sacred dance! In this class you will learn the basic movements, isolations, and layers of belly dancing. Class will include short drills and choreographies to traditional as well as popular belly dance music and will draw from popularized Bollywood movements, Spanish fusion, gypsy, tribal and African style dance movements. Slow isolation and fast combo movements will create a low-impact cardio experience that is excellent for developing muscle tone, circulation, balance and graceful coordination. This class will also serve as an introduction to props such as veils, finger cymbals, sword and cane. Comfortable clothes for dance recommended, hip scarf or coin belt is optional.
