Water Polo Strong: Strength & Conditioning Clinic — How to Lift for Water Polo Date: November 29, 2025 Duration: 2 hours Overview This Water Polo Strong clinic teaches athletes how to lift with purpose — building strength that transfers directly to the pool. Led by Coach Brian Xicotencatl, athletes will learn proper lifting technique, understand the “why” behind each movement, and practice age-appropriate strength progressions used by top collegiate and professional players. What Athletes Will Learn The fundamentals of proper lifting mechanics (squat, hinge, push, pull, carry) How to generate power safely and efficiently Core and rotational strength for throwing, shooting, and eggbeater stability Common lifting mistakes water polo players make — and how to fix them How to balance in-water training with dryland work for optimal performance Warm-up and recovery strategies before and after lifting sessions Clinic Format 2-hour hands-on training and education session Live demonstrations and individualized coaching Take-home “Lifting Foundations” technique checklist What to Bring Athletic clothes, training shoes, water, and notebook (optional).
