About This Activity

Description

Build on your swimming fundamentals. Begin breaststroke kick, freestyle and back stroke with proper form and breathing for longer distances. Deep water safety, treading, and head-first entries/ basic diving techniques are introduced.

Prerequisite: Learn to Swim Beginner or...

  1. Bob underwater, blow bubbles through mouth and nose, and remain submerged for at least 5 seconds.
  2. Front and Back floats unassisted for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Front and back glide unassisted for distance of 10 feet.
  4. Freestyle and backstroke unassisted for 1/2 length of the pool.


Arrival and Supervision: All participants must check in on the pool deck for their first class. No one is allowed in the pool until the instructor is present. A parent or guardian must stay in the pool area during class for any participant under 16yrs - no drop-offs are allowed.Missed Class/Refunds: We do not offer individual make-up lessons or refunds for missed classes. If your child is sick or injured, a pro-rated refund may be available with a doctor's note. The last day to request a refund or withdrawal is the week prior to the program starting. No refunds or credits will be issued after that date.What to Bring: Appropriate swimwear (no cotton, bikinis not recommended) Towel, goggles, and a swim cap (optional but recommended) Completed Participant Information Form (please bring or email this before the first class). Outside the pool area, shirts, shoes, and shorts/pants are required per policy.Program Status Line: Call the Front Desk at (410)-313-0390, at least 1 hour prior to the start of class, to check if class is canceled due to inclement weather (like thunder or lightning).
