Become an “Iron Chef” as you create delicious dishes that reflect both American and Japanese cultures. Working in teams of American and Japanese students, learn basic cooking techniques and the appropriate use of kitchen tools while exploring cultural similarities and differences in dining etiquette. Taught by Julie Dohmen, Pyrtle Elementary School Teacher This class is part of our International Program, which offers American students a unique opportunity to interact with visiting Japanese students. On Monday, June 15, please arrive at 8:00 AM for an orientation meeting before the Japanese students' arrival. Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 18, for bowling and fun at Sun Valley Lanes (321 Victory Lane) provided by our friends from Senshu Matsudo University Junior High School. Bring a sack lunch to eat at Lux before heading to the bowling alley at 12:30 PM. Bus transportation will be provided. Students must wear socks in order to bowl. Please plan to pick up your student at 3:00 PM at Sun Valley Lanes.
