About This Activity
Description
The Butterfield Park District Bullfrogs Swim Team provides a positive and competitive environment for swimmers to strengthen their skills and grow as team athletes. Coaches emphasize proper technique, teamwork, and sportsmanship while challenging each swimmer to continue developing as a swimmer. Swimmers participate in weekly meets throughout the season, held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
This age group focuses on swimming all four competitive strokes efficiently and legally while building race consistency. Swimmers compete in 50-yard butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle, and team relays. Practices emphasize stroke technique, turns, racing starts, and age-appropriate conditioning.
Swimmers unable to swim 25 meters of freestyle and backstroke without stopping should enroll in Pre-Swim Team or Swim Lessons (Learn to Swim).
Note: Transportation is not provided to the youth camp.
