About This Activity
Microscopes, lab coats, and test tubes, oh my! Prepare yourself for a week of experimentation and creation. Learn about molecules and bonds as you make slime. Learn about chemical reactions and changes of state. Make your own chemical reaction and create rocket power! Find out what molecules have to do with bubbles and scent. Let your curiosity run wild! Design a molecule craft as well! We will also dabble in physics by learning about force, thrust, lift, drag, yaw, gravity, and pull. Experiment with paper airplanes, and make a paper rocket that we can blast into the sky with air pressure! Learn about sound and how vibrations travel using tiny hairs inside of our ears. **This is one of our Female Focused Camp sessions which are designed specifically to enable girls and girl-identifying individuals an opportunity to learn in a fun and supportive environment with curriculum adjusted to highlight the critical role females have made in advancing scientific understanding. These camps are open to all genders; however, the intent is to empower girls, as females remain underrepresented in all areas of STEM.
