Description
This is a tentative activity. Registrations will be accepted if it becomes official.
In partnership with Washington Family Ranch, the MACRD has designed an innovative approach to swim lessons to meet the needs of children and families at the Ranch. During this three-week program, children will learn and develop swimming and safety skills in and around water. During this program, each participant will receive 45 minutes of swim instruction based on their skill level.On the first day of the session swim instructors will assess participants for their skill level and divide them into groups based on their skills:
Yellow group will learn the following skills: How to enter and exit the water safely, blowing bubbles out of mouth and nose, front and back floats, front and back glides, front and back streamline, and how to kick.
Green group will receive a quick refresher on basic water safety, breath control, learn proper stroke techniques (freestyle & backstroke), how to dive off the deck and maintain their streamline, how to use swim equipment properly, and how to circle swim with other swimmers.
Please bring the following for swim lessons: a swimsuit, a hair tie, a towel, and dry clothes.
Activity Refunds:
A full refund will be issued if a patron is withdrawn from an activity at least 10 business days prior to the date registration closes.
A partial refund will be issued if a patron is withdrawn from an activity at least 5 business days prior to the date registration closes.
No refund will be issued if a patron is withdrawn from an activity after registration closes.
