Supervisor: Brian Bullock SPONSORED BY METTE, EVANS AND WOODSIDE & Vince Philips* *Vince Phillips served as Debate Coach at CV High School and Supervisor of the Eagle Foundation’s summer debate camp. This two-week camp will entail covering all aspects of a Jury Trial Procedures. Including (Courtroom Etiquette, Opening Statements, Direct Examinations, Cross Examinations, Closing Arguments, Objections – Making and Responding to Objections) and Witness Portrayal. During this first week, students would be given the Case Materials that will be used during the second week of Camp. During the second week, students will be divided up into two Teams to break down the Case Materials and create Case Theories and Themes for both the Prosecution side of the case and the Defense side of the case. Students then will be given Roles to play for the Trial. During that week, two students will work on and prepare for the Trial that would be done on the Last day of the Camp. Students would be encouraged to dress the part and be prepared to participate in the trial with their roles. Some would be Lawyers (doing Openings, Directs, Crosses, and Closings) Some would be Witnesses playing different roles, (Defendant, Expert witnesses, Lay witnesses - Character Witnesses etc.)
