Description
The Junior Guard Lifeguard in Training course is for individuals who aim to become staff for Junior Guard program. This prerequisite’s for the Junior Lifeguard Training are:
-Must be at least 14 years old
-Must have participated in Junior Lifeguard Program at the Dolphin or Orca Level
-Must be able to complete the 100 yard swim in under 2 minutes
-New challenges will be introduced this year to increase participants’ understanding of the ocean environment.
*LITs are expected to volunteer for one Junior Guard Session.
Junior Guard Program info:
The Morro Bay Junior Guard Beach program is designed to increase the participant's appreciation and understanding of the recreational opportunities and hazards associated with the ocean environment. Participants will receive education and hands-on experience in ocean safety, environmental awareness, first-aid, rescue techniques, surfing and paddle boarding, beach activities, physical fitness and marine safety operations. An end of the season party is also included. All instructors and aides are experienced USLA certified beach lifeguards as well as Title 22 First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer.
Required for those wishing to be a Lifeguard in training. This Activity requires you complete a Minor Activity Registration and Release Agreement. You can go to our website and download the forms or pick up them in our office. The forms must be completed and turned in prior to your child's participation.
