Students will be introduced to the art of hand embroidery. This traditional needlecraft creates decorative patterns on fabric using a needle and thread. Students will learn which tools and materials to use, how to transfer designs and how to hoop fabric. They'll also learn an assortment of decorative stitches such as running, satin, daisy chain and French knots. These can be used to create several projects like a needle book, sampler, monograms, and embellishments for their belongings.
Students must bring sewing machine to class.
