2 Saturdays, April 20 and 27, 10:30am - 12:30pm 607: Drop Spinning 101 Taught by Carole Huber, Ages 10+ $64 members/$70 nonmembers Embark on a journey into the world of textile arts with our drop-spindle crafting class, suitable for all levels, including brand-new beginners. In this class you will learn the ancient art of transforming fiber into yarn using a simple, portable drop-spindle, guided by Carole Huber, who has been a fiber artist for 10+ years. The key lesson is “You will be as successful as you are prepared.” Learn the mechanics and anatomy of the drop spindle and the central techniques of the process, including carding, blending and spinning. Spin your own single-ply yarn from wool roving, which will be provided. Supply list: A drop spindle. Teacher is available before the first class to discuss purchasing options, if needed.
