2 Saturdays, April 25 - May 2, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Beginning and Continuing Bobbin Lace Taught by Cathy Hill, 12+ $101 Beginner Member / $111 Beginner Non-member $66 Continuing Member / $73 Continuing Non-member Bobbin Lace is an amazing art! Students taking the class for the first time will learn about the history, equipment and basic stitches used in making lace culminating in the creation of a bookmark. Students who have taken the class before will have a chance to review their skills and learn new ones, taking them further along their lacemaking journey. All materials necessary are included in the class. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Cathy has worked with textiles from a young age and been making lace for 26 years. While she enjoys working lace in traditional materials and a variety of traditional lace families, she has also experimented with design, scale and unusual materials. While it is perfectly possible for her to make doilies, she chooses not to.
