1 Saturday, September 13, 12:30 - 3:00 pm Fabric Dyeing for Quilters and Sewists Taught by Elizabeth Baehr, 16+ $ 37 Member / $ 41 Non-member Explore Ice dyeing techniques for creating beautifully textured and brilliantly colored fabric for quilting and sewing. Student will dye 4 fat quarters in the class in the colors of their choosing and learn how to treat fabric before and after dying for best results. We’ll also play with color mixing to discover how to get the best results from the dyes. Attendees should wear clothes and shoes they would not mind if they got stained. They may wish to bring an apron or smock. Nitrile Gloves will be provided. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Liz is a multi media fiber artist creating in her fabric and yarn filled studio in Charlestown, MD. She’s a knitter, stitcher, dyer, embroiderer, sewist and more. With a goal of creating items that are both practical and pleasing to the eye, she makes things for living life colorfully. She loves playing with color and pattern to make fun and unexpected combinations and keeping it all lighthearted and playful.
