4 Wednesdays, August 12 - September 2, 6:30 - 8:30 pm Crafting Poems Taught by David Shoemaker, 16+ Crafting Poems is a four-week class that looks at the three primary building blocks of poetry and how these three can be used to build different forms of poetry. By the end of the course, participants will understand rhyme, feet, and meter, use them to analyze well known poems in various forms, and write their own Haiku, Limerick, Ballad, Sonnet, and Villanelle. No previous experience required, all levels accepted The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. David T. Shoemaker is an artist, poet, philomath, endomorph and undocumented art historian. He is the author of two books: A LIVING ART & OTHER POEMS and SMOKE AND SOUVENIRS: THE ESSENCE OF CHARLES DEMUTH. David has been crafting poems for over forty years.
