About This Activity
2 Wednesdays, July 29 - August 5, 6:00 - 8:00 pm Introduction to Batik Taught by Charissa Chmielewski, 14+ Students will learn the batik process and create one or two finished batiks using wax and fiber dyes. Students can bring a pre-draw design idea if they would like: 14" x 14" design. Students will be working with hot wax. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Charissa is a Secondary Art teacher and an artist. She enjoys working with tactile processes like metals, clay, batik, and printmaking. her art is often inspired by the natural world around her.
