3 Wednesdays, October 14-28, 3:30-5:30pm Make a Scrappy Doll - kids class Taught by Jodi Morello, ages 11-14 Slow down and enjoy the process of making something truly special. In this three-week class, adult students will create a handmade scrappy doll from start to finish while learning foundational sewing techniques along the way. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a beautifully crafted keepsake—perfect as a gift or a personal heirloom. No prior experience required. Students should bring their own sewing machine if they want to use one (optional). Hand sewing techniques will be covered. Jodi knew by the age of five that she wanted to be an artist and sold her first work at fourteen (a batik) to a school librarian after receiving a stern shushing. She later studied woodcut with master printmaker Antonio Frasconi because writing term papers is vastly overrated. She has degrees in fine arts, interior design, and art history.She is a retired NYC art teacher and interior designer who taught herself to weave during the pandemic.
