About This Activity
3 Wednesdays, Aug 5, 19, and 26, 3:30-5:30pm Make a Teddy (for akids) Taught by Jodi Morello, ages 10+ Create your very own teddy bear in this fun, hands-on class designed just for kids! Over three sessions, students will learn basic sewing skills while bringing their bear to life from start to finish. All materials are provided, and each child will leave with a one-of-a-kind cuddly companion to treasure. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Jodi knew by the age of five that she wanted to be an artist. Recently, a member of NYC’s fiber arts community commissioned Jodi to weave a tapestry of Pearl Chin, who started the business Knitty City on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. A shot of this work appears in an award-winning film, “Summer At Knitty City.” She sold her first tapestry, “Medusa”, to a curious art lover on Facebook.
