1 Saturday, June 13, 6:30 - 8:30 pm Sip and Shimmy, Mocktail style Taught by Rebecca Sullivan, 16+ (12+ with parent) Teas and mocktails to taste along with a taste of bellydance. We will sample drinks while watching some bellydance history and then try out some shimmys, hip slides, and undulations. Wear clothes you can comfortably move in. Bring dance shoes if you are not comfortable barefoot. Bring or borrow a hip scarf. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. Rebecca (aka Lorelei) has been studying many types of music and dance since she was 7. She began reading sheet music in 3rd grade and started music training on flute in 4th grade. She added Middle Eastern dance, rhythms, and percussion (zills and drum) to her repertoire over the last 12 years. She also performs Middle Eastern Bellydance under the name Lorelei. She is certified to teach Fundamentals and has been working in Integrations 1 and 2 in the Salimpour School of Dance.
