4 Wednesdays, July 23 - August 13, 12:00 - 2:00 pm Zine Making Taught by Kyleigh Slacke, Ages 15+ $98 Members / $108 Non-member Zines are a mini, homemade magazine that tells a story or message. Gaining popularity in the late 20th century, zines have been a unique art form and method of storytelling. In this class, you will learn how to make zines, the history of them, and how to distribute them. The zines being made will be made traditionally using pens, pencils, collage materials, and more! The students will know how to fold and make zines, and they will be able to take their work home with them. This class is for all levels. Students are asked to bring scrap paper, old magazines/books, stickers, and/or stamps, to help collage zines. The Newark Arts Alliance will retain a $5 cancellation fee if a student withdraws from a class. . Kyleigh Slack is a Wilmington University student majoring in graphic design and digital marketing. In her free time, she specializes in making zines, graphic designs, felt art, and digital art. She is passionate about her art and designs, and she hopes to encourage her community to make art, too!
