MONDAY ONLYAges 6 - 14
This is a blend of two levels. Course prerequisites: 25 yards of both freestyle (with competent side breathing), backstroke & elementary backstroke; 15 yards of breaststroke. A level 5 swimmer is working toward refining all 6 of their strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke) through repetitive drills and kicking sets that focus on pieces of each stroke individually. Swimmers will continue with competitive turns and how a swimming turn is incorporated within a continuous swim.
Aerobic training is now part of the lesson and is incorporated in a lesson plan comparable to swim team practices. By the completion of Level 6 your swim will be able to swim 500 yards continuously in the following breakdown: 100 yard freestyle; 100 yard backstroke; 100 yards breaststroke (with a refined symmetrical kick); 75 yards elementary backstroke; 25 yards butterfly; 100 yards their choice of stroke.
Minimum swim skill completed - Level 3.
Class takes place in 3.5 feet of water. Classes cancelled by management will be credited to your CPRD ActiveNet account unless otherwise specified. Classes missed due to illness, vacation, etc. do not qualify for credit/refund. Participant withdrawal is required at least 24 hours prior to the first class to receive full credit; a $25.00 admin fee will be levied for late withdrawals.
