About This Activity

Description

Be aware, scheduling is tentative and may be updated, modified or cancelled based on instructor availability.
Level 2: Ages 6 - 14 years.
Prerequisite: Pass from Level 1/2
This class is designed for swimmers who have completed CPRD's introduction of fundamentals in the Level 1/2 and who need more independent practice of swimming fundamentals to eventually progress to Level 3.
Students must be able to submerge completely, blow bubbles under water, independently float on their front & back comfortably, and be able to comfortably glide on their front & back for 3-6 yards with their ears & eyes (when on tummy) in the water. The objective of level 2 is to give students opportunity to practice with fundamental floating and stroking skills and build the independence required for Level 3.
The emphasis will be on combining fundamental floats with forward movement and beginner stroke technique, stroke and kick fundamentals for back & front stroke skills, introduction and progression in rhythmic breathing & side breathing. Your swimmer should be able to confidently glide from the wall to their instructor and incorporate kicks and arm stroke at the beginning of this level.
By the completion of Level 2 your swimmer will be relaxed and comfortable with floating & gliding on their front as well as their back and is able to start these skills on their own independently. Your swimmer should be at ease with putting their entire face in the water, blowing bubbles from their nose, and able to demonstrate side breathing during drills and eventually demonstrate this skill independently. Swimmers will have the fundamental techniques for freestyle, backstroke, and elementary backstroke by the completion of this level.
Canceled classes will only be refunded to CPRD ActiveNet account.Classes missed due to swimmer illness, vacation, etc. do not receive refunds. If enrolled and you withdraw less than 24 hours prior to the first class, a $25.00 late withdrawal fee will be taken out of your refund.
