Description
The Junior Swim Team is designed for swimmers who have completed foundational swim lessons and are ready to apply their skills-such as breathing, backstroke, and freestyle-at an introductory competitive level. This course focuses on refining technique and improving efficiency in the water, while gradually increasing endurance. Participants will work on building their stamina from swimming 15 yards to 25 yards, the standard length of a pool, in each session.
Participants need to have passed the Sharks class in order to enroll or take a swim test consisting of 25 yards Freestyle and 15 yards of breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly.This Summer session is 8 weeks long, running from June 16th through August 7th. You do not need to attend every class.
Week 4: Initial Time Trial- Participants will complete a 100-yard freestyle time trial to establish a baseline performance.
Final Day: Mini Swim Meet- To celebrate progress and skill development, all participants will do the following: Compete in the 100-yard freestyle to measure improvement since the initial time trail and participate in one additional event of their choice, featuring their preferred stroke.
This format encourages both individual growth and friendly competition in a supportive environment.
