This class is perfect for teens that are interested in learning a new skill and getting on the waterin an independent fashion. It’s also the first step to joining your local High School Sailing Team!Starting day one students will get on the water in their own boats and learn the basics of sailingincluding steering, trimming sails, and how to fix an accidental capsize. Students will learn in420s, a two-person dinghy sailboat used by the High School Sailing Team at competitions. Inthe evening classes, students will overlap with the High School Team’s practices. Swimming isa required part of this class (students always wear a lifejacket). This class meets at the OlympiaYacht Club.
Please download information at right and bring to the first day of camp. *Olympia Community Sailing offers scholarships for any kid that is on Free and Reduced lunch at school.
Summer Camp Withdrawals/Transfers: Camp Refunds for camp registrations are subject to a $25 cancellation fee per session/week. A full refund, excluding the cancellation fee, will be issued if cancellation notification is received at least 14 days before the camp session's first date. If withdrawal occurs within 2 to 14 days of the camp session's start, the cancellation fee will be 25% of the total camp fee. Withdrawals after 5:00 pm on the Friday before a camp week will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total camp fee. No refunds will be given after the camp begins unless the satisfaction policy applies. Transfers are allowed at no cost, provided there is an available spot; however, campers transferring from a camp to a waiting list will be charged the appropriate fee.
