About This Activity
Description
Stage 3 (Water Stamina):
In this stage, students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance than in previous stages in the event of falling into a body of water. This stage also includes rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action. Students in this stage focus on integrating arm action, leg action and rhythmic breathing in front and back glides, developing forward movement on the front and back and practicing skills and safety techniques in deep water.
Prerequisites:
Swimming skills are not required for this level of swimming lessons. Students must be able to attend this lesson without the aid of their parents. Students will be evaluated during the first lesson to determine the appropriate stage.
What Do I Need:
Students must wear a swim suit at all times. We recommend a swim shirt to keep the student protected from the sun or cool weather. Student must wear a swim diaper if not fully potty trained.
