About This Activity
Description
Students in this stage will learn and refine their techniques on all major competitive strokes. Emphasis on water safety will continue through treading water and resting strokes. Focus will also be on developing stamina and endurance, as well as skills related to competitive swimming such as flip turns.To avoid cancellations in the event of inclement weather, Safety Topics and Dryland Exercises will be covered (maximum of 2 lessons).
Prerequisites:
Participants must be able to swim front crawl with rotary breathing for 25 yards, swim back crawl for 25 yards, and butterfly kick for 15 yards. They must also be able to perform a seated dive, resting stroke for 25 yards, and tread water for 1 minute using scissor and whip kicks.
What Do I Need:
Please bring a swimsuit and towel. Goggles and a swim shirt (recommended).
