Designed for children with neurological, developmental, and cognitive challenges, and teaches them independent swimming and water safety. By introducing students to the water gradually during private lessons, they are better able to focus their attention. This class follows the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim guidelines. Participants, with one-on-one instruction, will be individually assessed of their swimming skills and instructors will create daily lessons to work with each child. They will also learn social skills during partner activities with classmates and group games.
Aquatic program withdrawals must be made prior to the second class of the session. Late requests will be processed as an account credit for 50% of the fee. Refunds are not available once the program begins. Credits or refunds will not be offered for class sessions cancelled or shortened due to inclement weather.
