About This Activity

Welcome to FSA!

T-Ball has new “Little Rookies – League Rules”, these rules were created to add more structure to the league. The bats used should be between 25 and 26 inches long. Each player needs a glove and rubber cleats. All games are Three (3) inning games. These rules will be distributed to all coaches before the season begins.

Learning the core fundamentals of hitting and fielding is the primary goal of T Ball for ages 4 years old up to 6 years old.  3 year old children are much too young for this league and are not permitted for league play.

T-Ball requires all parents to get involved.  The kids at this age need basic fundamental parent coaching to learn throwing, catching and batting - remember, just basic, fundamental, mechanics.  Any of this information can be found at a book store or on line for this age group.  DO NOT RELY ON YOUR COACHES TO REINFORCE THESE FUNDAMENTALS.  These raw mechanics are your responsibility.

The T-Ball league allows play by play on field instruction and allows each child a chance to learn the very basics of the game while having fun.  Everybody plays, everybody hits as all the kids have a chance to hit a soft type ball off of the T and run the bases.  Common sense, good sportsmanship, and just good old-fashioned fun are the goals of this league!

Games are usually played on weeknights after 5:45 p.m. and /or weekends between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at Von Colln Fields located at 2300 Pennsylvania Ave 19130.

Practices are initiated by the coaches - not the league.  So during a team meeting, one may ask what is the best night for everyone to get to practice?

This league needs your help in coaching and assisting these young athletes.  Please help out and join the long list of FSA volunteers to provide instructional opportunities so the kids can learn the basics of hitting, fielding, and base running. If you are looking to participate as a coach or assistant coach, please indicate your willingness to do so on your registration application.

Keep in mind a refundable $50 volunteer fee is included in registration and will be refunded when the required 4 hours of volunteer time has been completed. The 4-hours of volunteer time can be fulfilled by completing assignments of field maintenance, cleaning grounds/building, emptying trash receptacles, being an assistant coach for the whole season (if head coach needs one), etc. All head coaches are exempt from the 4 hour volunteer commitment and will receive back the $50 volunteer refund fee paid at registration.

For additional questions regarding T-Ball, please contact Karen Eisenhower, T-ball Commissioner at keisenhower@metroreporting.com
