About This Activity

The TPS STEAM Academy is an integrated, cross-curricular exploration into the worlds of robotics, engineering, and 3D printing. Students will rotate through three sessions during the camp day, each embedded with different challenges such as SumoBots, balloon-powered race cars, and rollercoaster design. At the TPS STEAM Academy, young innovators dive into an exciting, hands-on journey through the realms of robotics, engineering, and 3D printing. Each day is packed with dynamic, challenge-based sessions where students rotate through unique activities designed to push creative boundaries and problem-solving skills. From building and battling SumoBots in the robotics lab to designing and racing balloon-powered cars in the engineering classroom, every session promises to be an adventure. Students will code robots, tinker with circuits, and even experiment with CAD apps to create inventive prototypes. TPS STEAM Academy is a launchpad for young minds to discover and harness the power of STEAM. Matt Murray is TPS's Director of Educational Technology & Robotics and has been with the school since 2015. Teyanie-Watson Harris is TPS's STEAM Integration Specialist and has been with the school since 2022. Tor joined the TPS Facilities Department with a bachelor's degree in Technology Management. Entirely self-taught, he keeps up with lots of tech-related hobbies and connects with other 3D-printing enthusiasts online to troubleshoot a
