Summer Strings Orchestra Camp offers students a chance to study with some of the Philadelphia region’s most acclaimed string performers. The program, under the direction of George Atanasiu, will include daily master classes, workshops with special guests, small and large ensemble rehearsals, and a final performance for parents and special guests on Saturday, July 19. All of the camp’s programmatic components have been designed to improve participants’ musicianship, technique, sight-reading skill, and theoretical knowledge, and provide a unique opportunity for in-depth interaction with professional performers (including violinists Lenuta Ciulei, Igor Szwec, and Davis Barnett). Participants also will have ample opportunities to ask questions about performing, practice, and careers in music. Rehearsals will take place at Germantown Friends School. Guests, faculty, and student concerts will be presented in Yarnall Auditorium.
