From furious volcanoes to frozen tundras, explore the world’s extremes. We’ll spend the morning igniting our curiosity about all things fire as we learn about the science of combustion and make fire-themed snacks and crafts. In the afternoon, we’ll cool off with a deep dive into the world of ice: learning about crystal structure, discovering the animals of the Arctic, and enjoying a frozen treat. Students are encouraged to come dressed in the colors of their favorite of these two famous opposites. Programs run from 9:00am - 3:00pm, with drop-off available between 8:00 - 9:00am and prompt pick-up between 3:00 - 4:00pm. Drop-off & pick-up will take place at the front desk of the Lombard campus. There is a scheduled snack break and lunch time for all students. Each student must bring a packed lunch (with a drink) from home.
