Is your child a passionate animal lover but not quite old enough to volunteer? Reading Fur Fun is a special reading program that gives children the opportunity to improve their reading skills by enriching the lives of shelter dogs! Children ages 8-11 can sign up to read to our dog friends at our South Mountain Campus. This helps youth practice reading and teaches important socialization skills to our dogs awaiting adoption. AHS will have a selection of books on hand, but kids are welcome to bring their own. Details: Each program allows a group off youth participants who can be accompanied by one adult guardian each. Adult presence is not required and kids can be picked up following the program. No additional guests will be permitted. For questions, contact sbrose@azhumane.org. Ages: 8-11 Location: South Mountain Campus for Compassion (1521 W. Dobbins Road, Phoenix, AZ 85041) Registration: $10 per child. The fee for registering your child for Reading Fur Fun is non-refundable. If your child needs to cancel, the registration will be converted to a tax-deductible donation.
