This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class that will certify the participant in Waterpark Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and Bloodborne Pathogen Training. The Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR-PR, and Oxygen Administration are two year certifications and the Bloodborne Pathogen certification must be renewed each year. In order to participate in this class you must pass a pre-course which consists of two components: a swim-tread-swim sequence of 150 yard continuous swim using front crawl and/or breast stroke, treading water for two minutes using only your legs, and finishing with 50 more yards of the continuous swim; and a timed event which includes swimming 20 yards, picking up a 10 pound brick from the bottom of 7-10 feet of water and swimming it back to the side keeping both hands on the brick. The participant MUST attend all class sessions in order to pass.
