About This Activity
BEGINNER-INTERMEDIATE-ADVANCED US SAILING: This course is for students, ages 8-17, with little or no sailing experience. While it is like the Beginner class offered to the younger students, the students will be taught more skills that they will master by the end of the course. This course is taught in Optimist sailing dinghies, Laser 4.7 sailboats and two-person Club 420 sailing dinghies. The focus is on introduction to sailing and safety in and around sailboats. Students will learn to rig, sail and steer a boat. A fun, “Mini Regatta” will be sailed on the last day. Students passing the sailing, knot tying and right of way rules will receive a "Beginner" or “Intermediate” Certificate of Achievement at the Friday Pizza Party.
