Description
A class for children with some swim skills, paired with a caregiver. In this class instructors will use songs and movements to build comfort with going underwater, kicking, back floating , and independent pool entry/exit.
No prior swim experience required. Classes will take place in the shallow end of the pool. Parents/Guardians must be water-safe and experienced. One parent per child. If parents will alternate, please provide the instructor both names on the first day of class.
Class Placement is based on age and ability. Repeating sessions is encouraged. Register for new sessions after completing the current session. For specific questions regarding class placement, please email info@ranchotsunami.com or call 951-533-8789.
Instructor Credentials & Safety: All Rancho Tsunami Swim Lesson Instructors have completed rigorous training and are certified in Water Safety Instruction, CPR, First Aid, AED, and BLS. Instructors bring experience in competitive water polo, competitive swimming, and coaching at the college, high school, and club levels. For an added layer of safety, a pool lifeguard is on duty during all lessons, and supervised by a vetted pool manager.
Parent Expectations: Parents should arrive 5 to 10 minutes early with their swimmer ready in proper swim attire, sunscreen applied, and having used the restroom. Light snacks are fine, but avoid heavy meals before class. Parent may escort their child to the pool deck, but must remain in the bleachers for the lessons. Bleachers are uncovered - bring an umbrella if needed; no canopies or EZ-Ups allowed. If a swimmer needs to use the restroom, the instructor will notify the pool manager, who will escort the child to the registered parent or designated guardian. Parents may take photos from the bleachers; deck-level photos are allowed on the final day. Please do not interfere with lessons.
What to bring: Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen (apply 15 to 20 minutes before class), optional goggles, swim shirt allowed, hair tie/swim cap for long hair, swim diaper & cover if not potty trained.
