Explore the wonders of marine science through a hands-on, semester-long course designed for high school homeschool students. This University of California and California State University A–G approved course combines classroom learning with labs, field experiences, live animal encounters, and scientific investigation.Students will study the diverse ecosystems of the San Francisco Bay and Pacific Ocean while developing skills in observation, data collection, research, and critical thinking. Topics include ocean environments, waves and tides, marine organisms, marine animals, and ecological adaptations. Weekly homework assignments support learning and contribute to a semester-long final project.
The course includes immersive field experiences such as a creek study and marine science lab activities that bring concepts to life. Students who enjoy science, nature, and hands-on learning will thrive in this engaging program.A required textbook will be used throughout the course and must be purchased or rented separately.
