About This Activity
CITs participate in a four-week training program that focuses on direct child-care, counselor skill development, gardening, and animal care. The program begins with a 2-week program covering topics such as: Vocal and non-verbal communication Lesson planning and implementation Child development Group dynamics Power and leadership Access and inclusion Conflict transformation Time management Organizational strategies We recommend (though do not require) that CITs complete at least two weeks of the Jr. CIT program before participating in CITs.
