MUST BE 14 YEARS OLD ON August 31, 2025.PRACTICE DATES & TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.STAFF WILL CALL TO CONFIRM PRACTICE DATES & TIMES.The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe, fun, and skill-developing Sports Programs for youth. The Youth Sports Programs encourage good sportsmanship, develop playing skills, and promote friendly relationships among the players, coaches, officials, staff, and parents. The programs are designed to foster the development of leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork, while offering and enhancing the learning opportunities and experience for all participants through training and game participation.
Proof of Age (Birth Certificate, Government Issued ID, Passport, School Report Card, etc.) are required to verify age of participants. Recreation Center Supervisor/s must verify the age of the participant, otherwise the participant will be ineligible to participate in post-season play.
There's a minimum of 8 players per team and a maximum of 10 players per team.
Games are tentatively scheduled for Saturday mornings.
The program is for boys and girls, and teams are divided into age divisions. Qualified teams will get a chance to participate in a playoff tournament at the end of the season.
Players cannot participate in an outside basketball league/organization during the time of the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball Season. A player must be registered in only one City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Youth Basketball League. A player found in violation will be removed from the roster and all games they played in will be forfeited.
