The City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department is committed to providing a safe, fun and skill-developing Youth Sports Programs for children and Teens. The Youth Sports Programs encourage good sportsmanship, develop playing skills, and promote friendly relationships among the players, coaches, officials, staff and parents. The programs are designed to foster the development of leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork, while offering and enhancing the learning opportunities and experience for all participants through training and games participation.
The City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department believes in Everybody Plays philosophy and highly encourages fair play. The youth volleyball program is designed to develop and enhance players fundamental skills in a friendly and team-oriented environment.
The program is for boys and girls ages 15 to 17 years old, and teams are divided into age divisions. Qualified teams will get a chance to participate in a playoff tournament at the end of the season.
SCHEDULE UPDATE: The meeting dates and times currently displayed are temporary placeholders and DO NOT reflect the official practice schedule. The Volley season will take place between September and November 2026. Practice days and times are still being finalized and will be updated as soon as they are confirmed. Proof of Age (Birth Certificate, Government Issued ID, Passport, School Report Card, etc.) are required to verify age of participants. Please bring the Proof of Age document to the recreation center at your earliest convenience so that staff may verify the age of the participant, otherwise the participant will be ineligible to participate in post-season play. There's a minimum of 6 players per team and a maximum of 10 players per team. If there are more than 10 players registered, a draft process will be held to determine the teams' roster.
