About This Activity

Description

Internet Registration has not begun yet. Check Registration Dates in details.

Koret Health and Recreation Center offers group swim lessons for children ages 4 through 12 across four progressive levels. Classes are offered on a preschool track (ages 4 to 6) and a school-aged track (ages 7 to 12), and are designed to build water safety skills, stroke technique, and swimmer confidence from the first lesson through to multi-stroke independent swimming.

Each session runs for 3 weeks with classes meeting on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Sessions are 30 minutes long. Up to three classes run on the pool deck at a time with a 15-minute break between each one. Not every level is offered in every time slot each day. When selecting your class, review the available times and levels listed and choose the one that matches your swimmer's age track and skill level.

SESSION DATES
Session 1 (June): June 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18
Session 2 (June/July): June 23, 25, 30 and July 2, 7, 9
Session 3 (July): July 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30

DAILY CLASS TIMES
- 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM
- 4:45 PM to 5:15 PM
- 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM

HOW TO CHOOSE A LEVEL
If your swimmer has not taken lessons through Koret before, use the test-out skill lists below to find the right starting level. Each level lists the skills a swimmer must be able to demonstrate to begin that class. If your swimmer can perform all the skills listed for a given level's prerequisites, that level is the right fit. When in doubt, starting one level lower is always the safer choice. Swimmers are assessed on Day 1 and may be moved if the class is not the right match.

If your swimmer has already completed a level at Koret, register for the next level in the same age track.
