Biology 1 For students entering grades 7 – 8 i (and entering grade 9 if student has not taken Biology). Description Please note this course is IN-PERSON. This biology course covers grades 6 and 7 and introduces students to the cellular world, specifically how cells come together in billions of different combinations to produce the enormous variety of life on this planet. After learning what it means to be a biologist – to not only ask questions about the living world around oneself, but within oneself as well – students will explore and explain the underlying mechanisms that govern the functioning of all living organisms. By the end of this course, students should not only have a baseline knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, but also understand how humans compare and contrast with our distant relatives, the Plant Kingdom.
