Writing for Success: 7th Grade Skills Course Grade: 7 Period 1: 8:30-10:00 Instructor: Elise Brunner This engaging, activity-based course is designed to support both proficient writers and those looking to enhance their writing and critical thinking skills. Each week, participants will explore a different writing style, including expository, argumentative, narrative, and descriptive, applying the skills learned in class. Students will develop an Interactive Writing Skills Notebook aligned with Grade 7 Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The course emphasizes structured skills and strategies that foster clear, organized, and high-quality writing. Activities will include responding to prompts and claims, citing relevant examples to support arguments, and more. The Interactive Writing Skills Notebook will serve as a valuable reference tool throughout middle school and beyond.
