This class is for softball players born in 2010 or 2011.
POD training class is maxed at 10 players (the same group stays together for the entire 4 weeks) for safety and to allow for maximum training each week of the instructional period!
Let’s shake off the rust! Whether you are on the all-star team or working your way up, this is the softball instructional class for you! This Pod based softball instructional program is for the gamer looking to play next level softball or aspiring to refine their skills during this down time. Players will learn the nuances of the game with training twice a week. This instructional program for ages 9-10 is all about getting down the fundamentals on drills, and instruction covers areas such as fielding, hitting, throwing and situational play. Hitting will consist of Tee work, driving the ball with live hitting, and eye hand coordination drills to enhance ball visibility. Fielding will consist of throwing mechanics, arm care, footwork and defensive skills. Players will also work on sliding, base running, turning and speed!
SMBA professional coaches are subject to availability and at the discretion of SMBA for any and all camps and classes. Upon signing up, parent agrees SMBA coaching staff will have final discretion on pod groupings for balance, safety, level of play and best fit for the overall pod play experience.
Participants must wear a mask, and bring a softball glove and bat. Catchers must bring their own gear. $5 cash material fee payable to instructor on the first day of class. Softball pants and socks are recommended, but not required. Players should wear a hat and sunscreen. Please bring your own snacks and drinks.
PRIORITY ONLINE REGISTRATION for Santa Monica residents begins Thursday, September 17 at 8 a.m. Non-resident registration begins Monday, September 21 at 8 a.m. Online registration is required. Walk-in registration is not available.
REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be made in writing to the program supervisor in person or by fax (310-899-0840), mail, or email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable.
REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded.
CANCELLED CLASSES will be made up at the end of the session. Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
